The compact tracked man lift is trending high, primarily a result of higher labor costs. Every trade we serve sees the use of great tools and machines as the answer to high labor costs.

Here at Gap Power we are working hard to have the right Compact Tracked Lift for all trades of construction.
We've relied on the Teupen 75 footer for a number of years starting in 2010. Our long running familiarity with this brand has been mostly favorable.
We'll continue provide Teupen lift rentals even as we add CTE model 230-75 lifts by Compact Tracked Equipment into the mix, running these blue ones side-by-side with the red Teupen over the next year or two to compare them, like we did years back with the stand on loaders keeping our relationship with multiple brands.
Nice basket with pull down ladder for easy access to platform entrance. Full range 440 lbs. capacity.
Some distinguishing features on the 230-75’ CTE’s
1. They are less complicated than most to operate. Still a challenge but less of one due to the controls being a bit more intuitive than other brands I’ve used.
2. The max weight capacity of 440lbs is available for the entire load envelope. This is something our Teupens also have but is something most of other spider lifts limit you on the further you reach out to the side.
3. They make a nice two-man basket similar to an x-boom in size with a jib and basket rotation. Although the basket is smaller then a JLG lift it has a similar feel in operation.
4. Its narrower and not as long as most spider lifts of same size. Easier to maneuver in tight areas.
5. The CTE is a Z boom. There are quite a few brands that use a Z boom as their lower section. But it is nice in construction applications as it stays the same distance from the wall when you raise and lower the bottom section. Our Teupen does not have a z boom
Lower boom is a stack making service easier.
6. One downside of the CTE’s is they don’t have very much ground clearance between their tracks. A Teupen will get much higher which is better in woods applications.
7. Their outriggers spread hydraulically instead of manually. They are the only lift that size that does that. And there is a range the outrigger needs to be in to get the full envelope instead of one fixed spot. This gives you flexibility if your working in a tight area.
8. Controls are very proportional and smooth.
Factors that influence our decision to try them:
1. I like that they in the past have made a good amount of changes to the lifts to better fit the American market instead of digging their heels in that their product is perfect. Makes me believe that in the future suggestions from us will be taken into consideration.
2. A Chicago company has had a good amount of success renting them all over the Chicago area.
4. Time will tell but my eyes tell me that a CTE will be less maintenance then the Teupens or other brands. Hoses are routed better. Less sensors. Electrical system a bit less complicated. The machine overall is still complicated but appears to be less then we are used to. Time will tell!
Fantastic engineering to pull this off with a lift able to reach 75 feet.
