Eliet, Self Propelled, Broadcast Style, Walk Behind Top Dresser.

We will not rent this out for salt applications

This Eliet top dresser provides you with broadcast style spreading capability. Allowing you to spread a swath of up to 26 feet depending on the material that you are spreading. This top dresser can be used for compost soil spreading, sand, and any other materials you might be wanting to spread on your lawn.

Powered by a Honda GX390 motor, equipped with an electric start, and all entirely hydraulic driven, this top dresser is a highly effective solution for any and all top dressing applications. The WS model hopper is able to handle over 11 cubic feet of material. It feeds material via a conveyor belt dropping it down on to 2 high-speed spinning discs, delivering a consistent spread pattern. Both the hopper opening and the conveyor belt speed can be adjusted to fine-tune the rate at which you need to spread.

FAQ

When is this broadcast top dresser the right tool for my turf project?

This is commonly used for: broadcasting compost over aerated residential lawns; spreading dry sand across athletic fields or large turf areas; topdressing seedbeds during lawn renovation; distributing screened organic blends over established grass. It excels on open turf where its broadcast pattern up to 26.5 feet wide covers square footage quickly. If you need precise placement along flower beds, sidewalks, or narrow strips without throwing material into mulch, a drop-style top dresser is a better choice.

Can I rent this top dresser to spread salt or ice melt?

No, this machine is strictly prohibited from being used for salt or de-icing applications. Salt causes severe chemical corrosion to the hydraulic lines, conveyor assembly, and broadcast discs. The unit is dedicated exclusively to turf dressing materials like compost, sand, and soil blends.

What materials can be run through the hopper, and how should they be prepared?

The machine handles screened compost, masonry sand, topdressing sand, and fine soil blends. Material must be screened to 1/2-inch or finer and free of large stones, sticks, or hard clumps that could jam the 17.7-inch conveyor belt. Avoid excessively wet or saturated compost, which tends to bridge in the 11.6 cubic foot hopper rather than dropping smoothly onto the spinners.

How do I transport this walk-behind top dresser?

Because the unit weighs 1,010 pounds and measures roughly 100 inches long by 35 inches wide, you will need a sturdy utility trailer with a full-width ramp gate or heavy-duty loading ramps. It cannot be loaded safely into a standard pickup truck bed due to its weight, length, and low clearance. Make sure your trailer has adequate tiedown anchor points front and rear. Gap Power also offers delivery and pickup directly to your jobsite.

Will this machine fit through a standard backyard gate?

Yes, with an overall width of 34.6 inches, it will pass through a standard 36-inch walk gate. However, clearance is very tight with under an inch to spare on each side. Check gate latch hardware, post hinges, and tight turning angles ahead of time to ensure a clear pathway.

How do you adjust the spread rate and throwing width?

Spreading volume is controlled by a combination of the adjustable hopper gate opening and the variable hydraulic conveyor belt speed. Spreading width reaches up to 26.5 feet based on engine throttle and spinner disc speed. Slower conveyor speeds and a lower gate opening give you a fine, uniform dusting, while wider settings deposit heavier layers for grading or renovation.
