FAQ

When should I rent this cordless telescopic hedge trimmer instead of a standard trimmer or pole saw?

This is commonly used for: trimming the tops of tall privacy hedges without a ladder; shaping wide, deep perimeter shrubbery from the ground; pruning ground cover on steep slopes without bending; maintaining landscape hedges in noise-sensitive residential neighborhoods. It is ideal for hedge greenery and small twigs up to about 1/2-inch thick. For thick structural tree branches, rent a dedicated pole saw or chain pruner instead.

How high can this hedge trimmer reach, and how heavy is it to operate?

The telescopic shaft adjusts between 8.5 feet and 10.5 feet, giving most operators a working overhead reach of roughly 15 to 16 feet without standing on a ladder. Complete with battery, the tool weighs only 12.6 pounds, but continuous overhead reach causes arm and shoulder fatigue, so pacing your cuts and using proper balance is recommended.

How long do the batteries last, and can I trim continuously?

Your rental includes two batteries and one charger, giving you the ability to work virtually without interruption. Each battery delivers up to 140 minutes of working runtime and recharges in roughly an hour, allowing you to charge one pack while cutting with the other.

How does the articulating cutter head work for different hedge angles?

The 20-inch dual-sided cutter head features an articulating gearbox that adjusts from -45° to 70°. This allows you to square off the flat tops of tall hedges while standing safely below, or angle the blade downward to trim ground cover and low brush without straining your back.

What thickness of hedge material can this trimmer cut without jamming?

The 20-inch dual-sided blades are designed for new hedge growth, dense foliage, and soft green twigs up to roughly 1/2 inch in diameter. Forcing the reciprocating blades into dead hardwood, thick stakes, or wire fencing will jam the gearbox or dull the teeth; thicker limbs should be pre-cut using hand loppers or a small saw.

Will this pole trimmer fit inside an SUV or car trunk for transport?

The trimmer collapses and folds down to an overall length of 5 feet 11 inches for transport. It easily fits inside standard pickup truck beds, vans, or SUVs and hatchbacks with a fold-down rear seat.
