Dutchman's 33-inch, 30-degree tree spades are designed to produce an optimum fill in a 32-inch basket. This type of spade is great for digging up to 8 foot coniferous trees as well as moving shade trees up to 3.25-inch caliper. Unit digs from 34” to 20”.
Weight of the inside frame is approximately 1450 lbs.
Operations:
Dig hole where tree is going.
Open swing gate.
Center the tree trunk.
Lower the spade and shut swing gate.
Lower each spade, one at a time, about 6" to 1' at a time.
Continue until all three spades are down all the way.
Its recommended to tie up evergreens before spading and putting a ribbon or something to mark the "best side" of the tree. This will help to center the trunk and help prevent damage to lower branches. It will allow you to place the tree with the best side facing where you want it. Is sometimes referred to as a skid steer tree bucket or skid steer tree puller.
