This is commonly used for: cutting square door and window openings without overcutting corners; plunge cutting deep concrete walls up to 15 inches from one side; trimming reinforced masonry block in tight access; and finishing corner cuts started with circular saws. Choose this saw when you need deep cuts or clean 90-degree corners. For long, straight, shallow expansion joints or flat slab demolition, a standard circular walk-behind or handheld cut-off saw is faster and more economical.

Equipped with a 14-inch bar, the Stihl GS 461 can plunge cut up to approximately 15 inches (390 mm) deep from a single side. This allows you to cut completely through standard 8- to 12-inch foundation walls or concrete block without needing access to both sides.

The diamond cutting chain is a consumable item and must be purchased separately. Gap Power stocks compatible 14-inch chains, including the ICS 525392 value chain and ICS 71486 premium chain, so be sure to add one to your order based on your project requirements. Chain life is estimanted to cut 28 linear feet at 8 inches thick, but chain life can be extended with the addition of a 1/4" "Precut" blade on a 14" concrete demo saw.

This saw requires an active pressurized water supply delivering a minimum of 20 PSI directly to the integrated hose connection. Wet cutting is mandatory to flush slurry, cool the guide bar, and prevent premature wear or breakage of the diamond chain segments.

To get the straightest cuts and maximize chain life, make an initial shallow relief cut along your layout line using a standard circular concrete saw with a special "Precut" 1/4-inch blade which can be rented from GAp Power. Then plunge the concrete chainsaw into that groove to complete the full-depth cut and finish clean, square corners.
