This Clarke BEXT100H hot water extractor rental is designed to be easy to use, productive, quiet, and portable. This small compact carpet cleaning extractor is 40 times more effective than a shampooer due to its 212 degree water temperature. We suggest using our included sprayer to pre-soak your carpets.
Sometimes referred to as a steam cleaner. It is hot water (212 degrees) but it does not produce only steam
When should I choose this hot water extractor instead of a standard carpet shampooer?
+
This is commonly used for: deep cleaning heavily soiled carpets; sanitizing rugs with high-temperature water; removing stubborn grease and pet stains/urine; shampooing stairs and furniture upholstery; and restoring tile, stone, or linoleum floors. It is 40 times more effective than a standard cold-water shampooer because the 212°F heated water breaks down oils and dirt rapidly, leaving fibers cleaner and drier.
Does this machine produce actual steam, and how does the heating work?
+
While often referred to as a steam cleaner, this unit is a hot water extractor that heats water up to 212°F rather than producing pure steam. The high-temperature water is sprayed deep into the carpet fibers to dissolve dirt, and the powerful vacuum immediately extracts the dirty water into the recovery tank.
What accessories or chemicals do I need to complete my carpet cleaning job?
+
We recommend using our included pre-spray pump sprayer to pre-soak heavily soiled areas before extracting. You will need carpet extraction detergent formulated for heated machines; do not use high-foaming shampoo, which can damage the vacuum motor. If you plan to clean stairs, couches, or vehicle interiors, ask for the stair/furniture hand tool attachment. We also provide fans and dehumidifiers to help dry your carpet as quickly as possible. Prompt drying helps prevent unpleasant odors and minimizes the risk of mold or mildew.
How heavy is the Clarke BEXT100H, and can I transport it in a standard car?
+
The unit weighs 75 lbs empty and measures 33" L x 19" W x 27" H. It can fit in most SUVs, station wagons, or trunks with a wide opening, but we recommend bringing a helper to lift its 75-pound frame safely. Always empty both the clean water and recovery tanks completely before loading to prevent spills in your vehicle.
How can I prevent over-wetting my carpet and speed up drying times?
+
To avoid mold or carpet damage, make one "wet pass" applying hot water, followed by two or three "dry passes" using only the vacuum suction to pull out remaining moisture. Keep the 15-foot hose straight to maintain maximum suction, and use household fans or dehumidifiers to dry the carpet completely within 4 to 8 hours.
What should I do if the vacuum suction suddenly stops during use?
+
If suction drops, the recovery tank is likely full, triggering the automatic float shut-off to protect the motor. Turn off the machine, unplug it, and empty the dirty water recovery tank completely before resuming. Also, check the dome lid gasket to ensure it has a tight, airtight seal.
