Overview

The SuperTuff Cone Paint Strainer (11101) is designed for filtering paint, varnish, lacquers, enamels, stains, latex, and oil-based coatings before application or transfer to spray guns and quart or gallon-size cans.

Manufactured by Trimaco under the SuperTuff brand, these cone-shaped strainers are constructed with a synthetic mesh material — replacing earlier cotton designs — to deliver more accurate pore sizing and improved filtration consistency. The medium mesh rating makes them suitable for removing lumps, skins, flakes, dust, and other particulate impurities from small quantities of paint without restricting flow unnecessarily.

Technical Features

  • Synthetic mesh construction: Replaces cotton material to provide more accurate, consistent pore sizes — resulting in improved filtration and purification of paint and coatings.
  • Medium mesh grade: Captures lumps, skins, flakes, dust, and other particulate impurities while allowing adequate flow for quart and gallon volumes.
  • Cone/filter tip shape: Seats securely into quart and gallon-size cans as well as spray gun reservoirs, minimizing spillage during straining.
  • 4-pack bagged format: Provides multiple single-use strainers per purchase, supporting job continuity when switching between paint colors or coating types.

Applications

  • Straining paint, varnish, lacquers, and enamels prior to brush, roller, or spray application to prevent finish defects caused by particulate contamination.
  • Filtering stains, latex, and oil-based coatings stored in partially used cans where skin formation or settled debris is present.
  • Preparing coatings for use in spray guns, where clogging from fine particles and dried material is a common operational concern.
  • General paint preparation in residential, commercial, and contractor painting workflows where clean, contaminant-free material is required for a quality finish.
